“Kohli won’t score a 100 in his 100th test. Will score 45 (100) with 4 gorgeous cover drives and then Embuldeniya will knock his stumps over and he’ll pretend to be shocked and will nod his head in disappointment,” the user wrote on social media at 12:46 AM on Friday.

Sehwag took to his official Twitter handle and replied to the user’s eerily accurate prediction of Kohli’s innings in his 100th Test. ‘Wow’, Sehwag wrote on Twitter. India’s batting mainstay Virat Kohli was out on 45 in his 100th Test against Sri Lanka. Kohli fell to left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya as the ball spun past his bat to disturb the stumps. Just like the user predicted, Kohli stood there in disbelief before making the long walk back to the pavilion.

The 33-year-old Kohli walked out to bat to a big cheer from the crowd in the northern Indian city of Mohali and every run the right-handed batter, who went past 8,000 runs in Tests during his innings, scored was applauded. Kohli looked solid during his time in the middle as he hit five boundaries during his knock. Kohli added 90 runs for the third wicket with Hanuma Vihari before being dismissed for 45.

He was also felicitated by the home board before the start of play, with batting great and current India coach Rahul Dravid handing him a commemorative cap and a memento in the presence of his Bollywood actress wife Anushka Sharma.

Rohit Sharma was the first wicket to fall for India when he was out for 29 in his first knock as Test captain. Rohit hit six fours in his 28-ball innings and added 52 in the opening stand with Mayank Agarwal before finding the deep fine-leg fielder with a hook shot off fast bowler Lahiru Kumara.
